The Tulum Ruins

I have traveled many places around the world and finding a place that I want to go has never been hard but, finding a safe friendly place to go can get tricky so we designed this website so that when you decide to go to mexico you have a list of places to see, stay, and eat. One of my most favorite places to go when I travel to mexico is Tulum, there are many ruins, as well as some great markets. One of the coolest places that I went to was The Tulum Ruins.

The Tulum Ruins are located right on the ragged edge of the Caribbean Sea. This Maya site may formerly have been known by the name Zama, meaning City of Dawn, because it faces the sunrise. Tulum was a productive port for the Maya, and was built and occupied during 1200 A.D. to mid 1500 A.D. It is also one of the more compact ruins, and you can still see the windows in the ruins.

When you first get there there are lots of little local shops and when I went there were locals doing the dance of the flyers (I will post a link below) Where they consists of dance and the climbing of a 30-meter pole from which four of the five participants then launch themselves tied with ropes to descend to the ground. The fifth remains on top of the pole, dancing and playing a flute and drum.

Most of the days you go there it is belching hot, and with kids having it be super hot can be a pain so don't forget to bring your swimsuit, and after you are done before you leave make sure to take a trip down to the Caribbean Sea and have a swim. The waves are the perfect size for kids to play in and the water is super beautiful and clear. So I hope you have fun when you go and take your trip to the Tulum ruins.
